Operations Manager (PE)

A Logistics concern within Distribution is seeking an Operations Manager to join their team. He/she will report to the General Manager.

  • Receive information from Ops Admin Controller and prepare weekly financial forecasts and submit every Thursday to Divisional Support
  • Provide guidance to the team when preparing and updating long range forecast for remaining financial year, and submit the finalized forecast to Divisional Support

  • Rental transactions for Chauffeur Drive
  • Co-ordinate and liaise with a team of Chauffeurs
  • Maintain a strong relationship with customers
  • Asset control and fleet control
  • Fuel allocations daily in excel
  • Record hours on excel spreadsheets
  • Daily and monthly batching and filing
  • Avispro – orders and GRV’s
  • Manage relationships with suppliers
  • Record minutes during meetings
  • General Admin/office duties
  • Maintain financial hygiene
  • Meet day to day deadlines and monthly targets
  • Meet quality standards, financial control
  • Manage conflict
  • Assist in day to day operations
  • Manage telephone enquiries
  • Manage admin related tasks linked to as400 and wizard
  • Willing to work shifts including weekends
  • Willing to work overtime at short notice when need arises
  • Incumbent responsible for own transport to and from work at flexible times
  • Passionate of service and wowing the customer
  • Exceeding the financial budget
  • Exceeding customer expectations

An international dairy concern is seeking an Area Sales Manager with a strong FMCG / Dairy Industry background to fulfill a commercial Sales and Marketing role, responsible for branded consumer dairy products and industrial dairy ingredient sales within Southern Africa. This function involves profit and loss responsibility aimed at business development of new markets and driving of market share in existing markets.

Areas of business and key markets include : South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana, Swaziland and the Indian Islands

Candidate requirements :

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Sales / Marketing
  • 8+ years experience within Dairy / FMCG business environment
  • South African cold chain management experience
  • International sales experience of branded FMCG products within Africa
  • Experience managing and developing businesses within Africa
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Figure orientated and experience interpreting management accounts
  • Language skills (Preferably English and French)
  • Flexible and willing to travel extensively
  • IT Computer software skills and abilities including experience working on SAP

Duties :

  • Development and implementation of the sales and marketing strategy for the region (sales volumes, product mix, pricing and marketing support)
  • Development of an annual budget for each market in line with the business needs (monitor actuals against this budget and the update of this budget into periodic forecasts as required by the business)
  • Development of and liaison with distributors, agents and retailers for their branded range / products and with industrial end-users for their range of dairy ingredients
  • Determine A&P requirements for individual markets
  • Implement structures to control and steer the marketing efforts across the territories
  • Developing new branded routes to market for their products across the territory by identifying importation / distribution partners, developing in-market structures , identifying suitable acquisition targets or JV partners
  • Development and management of the Sales and Marketing team(s) to ensure that the appropriate resources are in place to achieve the budget targets and growth goals
  • Recruitment and appointment of vacant positions as the need arises

Reporting and liaising with :

  • General Manger (Africa)
  • Global marketing and innovation team to ensure delivery of a strong marketing and innovation agenda
  • The Demand Chain function to ensure alignment between sourcing and sales requirements
  • The Supply Chain / Customer Service team to ensure timely execution of orders
  • Finance Team
